From Ghent: N456 towards Watervliet. Turn left onto N448 Gentstraat. Keep left towards Eeklostraat. Turn left on second street, follow Warande until the Tragelstraat

Description: 
  • This 305-hectare forest complex extends to Lembeke, Oosteeklo and Waarschoot on a sand strata that runs from Oedelem to Stekene.
  • People chopped down trees when they found fertile soil, but they also reforested parts due to a need for wood for the mines.
  • Two loops on the Lembeekse Bossen Route go straight through the forest. There are many restaurants and pubs on the north side.
  • You'll also find a forest chapel, amusement forest and a well-equipped campground.
